Painting brake calipers

Post by bckersey »

I was wondering if anyone who has the factory 16" aluminum wheels on thier Vibe has painted their brake calipers. I was wondering how it looks. I am considering painting mine, but don't want to do it if it is not very visible.

Yeah, but he's asking if someone did it with stock wheels...Meathead's aren't stock wheels.

But I think he wants to see the calipers through the stock rims.

quote:Then he can do it in a bright color.. It will look fine either way...I read it wrong. SorryQuite alright. No need to apologize! He just isn't sure that the caliper is really visible through the 16" aluminum rims.Neither am I. I have the plastic wheel covers with ugly rims, so I'm not sure how the aluminium rims look...

Yeah hi, sorry, when I was born, god left out an important part, called memory. I have minimal. LOL!I can just see him going like, "hmm, what's this for? Oh well, must not be important," as he tosses it over his shoulder.

I knew I shoulda had the pics copywrited!!!! lolI am putting Tein springs on this sunday and I am repainting the calipers. The paint is actually slightly, uh...pastel....not a very bright yellow that i want. I bought a new caliper paint that is supposed to be a lot brighter and cover better. It's a caliper paint kit for 47 bucks...it had better cover well!! It's a paint on versus the spray, so hopefully it will turn out the way I want. Red will show up too, I dont think there will be a problem with that. My boyfriends grand am has red calipers and they show up very nicely, even with his stock rims on....of course you see them vetter with his 18's.Damn autozone and their slightly pastel yellow high temp paint!!! grrr
