will it fit?

Post by bassrocker032 »

first the link http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...15578 now the question. First of all, I don't plan on keeping this intake if I get it, it would just hold me off till I can get a long ram air intake from AEM or something. Now the reason I'm asking in the first place is because I bought the K&N stock filter replacement and this is cheaper so I'd return the K&N one to buy this one until I save the money for a better one. Now what i'm asking is will it fit? It doesn't look like it will line up at all, also it says vibe gt and I didn't know if the GT engine bay was set-up slightly different or if it was the same.

Different engine, so it will not fit. Your base Vibe has a 1zz engine, while the GT is a 2zz. Any engine bay parts you're contemplating should specifically say that they're for the 1zz. How much was the K&N? I've heard that they're not too shabby, I'd just run that if you already have it and see how you like it

Wait, I just read your sig. 2zz swap, duh I don't think the bay itself is any different.

ok, thank you. The K&N cost $55 but I honestly didn't feel to great of a improvement. I'm taking it to the track Friday and I'll be putting back in the stock filter, then the K&N just to see what's up. And my swap was actually completely free. I bought my car June 21st, of this year. On June 27th the thermostat went out, radiator cracked, head gasket cracked, head cracked, 2 spark plugs seized, and 2 piston rings were flawed and the pistons were not holding pressure or firing. All these problem were discovered as they took the engine apart but either way, my dealer paid to replace the engine and told me I was getting a 08 Vibe GT's, I flipped thinking 08 was the year they went 2.4, but after getting home and reading, I realized I was wrong. It took alot of faith in pontiac as a brand and the vibe as a model to keep the car after all this happened within a week of buying the car, but I kept it, and couldn't be more happy I did. The reason I went with the OEM replacement was because I didn't want to invest in a short ram just to change it in a few months anyways but if the one I found fits, then why not get the extra HP for a little while?
