Hi all,New poster. I tried searching the forums for this ongoing problem I've had but didn't find any resolution. So here goes...I have a 2003 FWD Vibe with 110k miles. Got it in Oct. 2005 with 21k miles. Been having blower motor "chirping" problems (more noticable at low fan speeds because of lower air movement noise) since Sept. 2006 or so.In Sept. 2006 the blower motor had to be replaced for "chirping". Nine months later it started making noise again, and we got it replaced under warranty (both were OEM parts). Ten months later, it chirped again and I got and put in a Factory Air unit with a lifetime warranty from Advance Auto Parts. Three months later it chirped. I let it go for a while then replaced it under warranty. Three months later the new one chirped. It's been in there chirping over a year. So... I'm wondering what I can try that might fix the problem with all these going bad? The Factory Air don't seem as well made as the OEM, so it makes sense they are chirping sooner. But ALL of these parts can't be bad, something has to be making them go bad. That is what I'm trying to resolve. I don't now if a resistor replacement would do it or not since all the fan speed settings work fine. Any thoughts?
first welcome... second take the parakeet out of the car and leave it at home.HAHA Now that I got that out of my system. Is the noise happening when the ac is on recirc or on fresh air?does it speed up and slow down with the speed of the fan?constant chirping? When you say factory air unit. What EXACTLY are they replacing?

No, if there was a bird in there my dog would have chased it out long ago. The noise is most noticable when the fan has been running for fifteen or twenty minutes. It is almost like it has to warm up to act up. Though it isn't exclusively like this. It does it whether or not the recirc is on (I saw that issue searching the forum about my issue). Heat or AC, doesn't matter. The noise is coming directly from the blower motor. With the most recent one (other than the one currently in there) I ran it while unmounted and listened to it up close with my ear before replacing it. It isn't very loud "in the open", but the sound is amplified going through the ducts. The sound is loudest on the low settings, but IMO it is probably just because it is drowned out at the higher settings by more air movement noise.Factory Air is the manufacturer of the last two blower motors I've had in there (lifetime warranty from Advance Auto Parts). The blower motor resistor is original to the car. The blower motors are easy to replace so I've done it myself the last few times.
