I'm confused. As I've searched and read the past posts many are in such technical terms, I just can't wrap my simple brain around them. I'm a brand new Gen Vibe member, just bought my first Vibe, an 03 GT 6sp FWD. It has come with the optional 17' alloy wheels and 21550ZR17 89H tires. This coming Tuesday I am going to search the salvage yard for steel rims for snow tires. I would like to drop down to 16". The sticker in the glove box says the standard tire on the 03 GT would have been 205/55R16? Here's where I need some help. In layman terms could someone tell me what I should look for in the salvage yard. Which cars might have 16" steel rims that would fit my Vibe? Camrys or Corollas? What do I need to look for in a rim, the correct number of bolt holes, width and center hole dimension?
Any of the 03-08 Vibe and Matrix steel rims will be the size you are looking for. The Corolla has the same size as well, just don't know what exact years though. AFA other cars are concerned, I have no idea which rims would match perfectly.
