'03 Vibe Stock Radio getting hot

I don't know if anyone has had this come up, but we just noticed that the stock head unit in our 2003 Vibe is getting hot after it has been on for a while. Kinda wondering if we should replace it.Also, we get a weird buzzing sound in the speakers that goes away if we hit the door locks. Quite strange.We also have the usual backlights going out.

There is a large aluminum plate that is held on with 5 or 6 small screws. I believe this is a heat sink that contacts 2 electronic components on the main circuit board. If the thermal paste between them has deteriorated that may cause the over heating. As for the buzzing, I'm not sure. Could be a sign that something in the HU has gotten too hot and is beginning to fail.This is just my best guess though...
