Show off your special interest license plates...

Post by ragingfish »

So, I know a lot of Vibe owners have the option in their state to get a special interest plate. I'm not talking personalized, as in, MYVIBE, but special designs, like, "save the trees" or something. I thought it would be cool for people to show off their special design plates here...I love mine...for all fans of the comic strip Mutts, you should recognize these guys: Here's the explanation:quote:The new design uses characters from Patrick McDonnell's syndicated comic strip "Mutts." Special companions don't have to say a word. Caring, loyalty, acceptance: it's all understood. For thousands of years, pets have held a special place in the lives of humans. The friendship between a pet and its owner is exceptional. Just walk into your home after you've been away. When your pet greets you, you can feel the warmth, love, and friendship. It can make your day. Now you can help other people and pets feel this warmth, love, trust, and friendship by purchasing the special reflectorized animal welfare license plate shown here. The Motor Vehicle Commission is making this beautifully designed plate available to New Jersey motorists. Funds from the sale of the plate will benefit the animal population control fund.Show you care about New Jersey's COMPANION ANIMALSFrom the very young to the very old, pets bring joy to people's lives. They offer unconditional love, warmth, trust, and friendship to those who love them. They bring joy to our lives. In return, we take care of their needs to ensure they are happy and healthy. Unfortunately, there are many dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens that have no one to care for them and never will.By purchasing this special animal welfare plate for your vehicle, you can help prevent the birth of unwanted puppies and kittens.Be ANIMAL FRIENDLY!Monies generated from these special plate sales will help fund the animal population control program run by the Department of Health. The program provides low cost spaying and neutering for thousands of pets and encourages the adoption of thousands more each year in New Jersey.

That's a pretty cool design! Here is a sample of what mine looks like: Michigan began issuing the patriotic license plate October 15, 2001. The red-white-and-blue license plate featuring an American flag flying over a dark blue silhouette of Michigan, boldly displaying the phrase "Proud To Be American", benefits the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army.

I hate history. I rarely remember anything. But I do rememver first flight...but I can't say first flight gives automatic designation of "birthplace of aviation"

quote:Wasn't Kitty Hawk, NC birthplace of aviation?NC is "First in Flight" ... Wright brothers were from Ohio, hence Ohio's slogan. They were adament to get that designation from what I hear.NC and OH both want to take credit for part of the historic events.

Here's the plate set I chose:Been a Badger fan since I could walk, both parents attended the University, and now my younger brother and I both attend the UW. Just seemed fitting to get plates that help support it afterall.(I edited the numbers a bit, if I can, I'll get personalized plates that actually say "1337" but there are actually 5 numbers on there for my actual plate :D)
