HELP...ASAP. My mission today was to practice putting in the car seat and base. You're supposed to loop the seat belt through the strap on the base and into the other part of the seat belt. (the part that clicks)But.............................I seem to be missing some parts???!!! This is what I get for procrastinating (and not spending any time in the back seat) And yes, I've folded down the seats and took a look around...all that's back there is the LATCH system.
Either wedged under/in between the seat creases or they did not reinstall them when the shop gutted your interior (the other fiasco) - if that is the case, call All State (believe that is your insurance company).

I just tried going out there and pushing the buckles into the seat but they won't go in (thought maybe they were just smashed down into the seat...) My best guess is that if the buckles are there they may be underneath the cushions. You would probably have to unbolt the seat cushions and remove them to find out.

That's a nasty and very dangerous oversight if they forgot to re install the buckles in the back seat. You need to talk to those people... and then never let them touch your car again. Was it a dealership?

Yes, my adjuster is gonna hear about this and oh man, is he going to be PLENTY P.O.'d...probably even more than I am right now. I'm trying not to get TOO upset because baby will pick up it. Here I am with NO time left and a MAJOR safety issue. The only thing I can think is I'll temporarily have to use Frosty until this is taken care of and let my mom use Neptune. I really don't want to do that, but have no choice. (Frosty's got some serious dings from her parking any old place, and so will be the fate of Neptune...) *sigh*
Update:Went to the dealer for my second free oil change today and had them look. They found them, stuck to the bottom of the car (grease on them) I came home, and tried to fasten the first one, and it wouldn't lock. I tried it upside down, didn't work either. Tried it with the middle belt and it locked, and so on and so forth. I left them fastened intending to take a pic to show just how ridiculous it all looks, but just so exhausted after a long day doing errands so I'll do that tomorrow. So I KNOW that the flying monkeys with crowbars somehow put the wrong ones in the wrong place. Eventually I'll have to figure it out, just not right now. I'm glad I spared my insurance adjuster an aneurism.
I was wondering if that happened on the older generation Vibes too.. Since on my 09 they have to be plugged in the right one.. though I don't have any idea why it would matter...? This is so weird.. and makes my friends throw a fit trying to buckle up..

As already mentioned, use the factory installed metal clips in the seat crack to fasten the infant seat into the car using the provided strap. There are also anchors behind the rear seat in the cargo floor covered by plastic covers. It was Federally mandated that all cars have these anchors installed.Check your owners manual or the one online here for details.Dave
I did put the car seat base in Frosty today, using only the LATCH hooks. The chicco keyfit has a strap you pull to take in the excess slack from the LATCH belts; it felt very sturdy when I tried to move the base.
