2007 Vibe CEL Code P0037 O2 Sensor Problems

Post by ggeller »

Recently bought a 2007 vibe that had the CEL on. The previous owner said his mechanic told him it was an O2 sensor. I took the vibe to Advanced Auto and used their scan tool and found code P0037 which is the Bank 1 Sensor 2 Heat Sensor Low. I know this is the downstream sensor. Well the problem that Im having is that I bought a Bosch downstream O2 sensor part number 15290. I put this O2 sensor in, cleared the code and after driving a quarter mile the CEL came back on with the same code. I'm wondering why this sensor didn't work? Could it be defective, did the computer not recognize the sensor, do I have to buy genuine Toyota parts for this vehicle or is there something else I'm not doing. The car only has 67,000 miles and they are mostly highway. I just don't understand why I get the same code when the part is brand new. Any suggestions would be helpful and appreciated.

1) Make sure the electrical connector's got a good connection.2) Your replacement sensor may have been defective. Have the shop you bought it from test it or exchange for another one.
