Front right wheel scraping noise when accelerating during left turns?

Post by ehoff121 »

Hi, all. Finally narrowed down the conditions for a scraping noise from the front right I'd been hearing every so often on my 2005 AWD with 54,000 miles. When the car is cold, i.e., just after starting, and I make a left turn then accelerate with the wheel turned more than 1/2 turn, I hear a scraping noise until the wheels are straightened out.No noise when making right turns.Anyone have a thought as to what this might be?My guess is wheel bearings...

Well if it's not something in the wheel well... jack up the right front and give the wheel a spin and check for play when you grab the wheel and rock at 6/12 and 9/3!
