Unlock liftglass with key?

I tried to accoding to the owners manual to unlock the liftglass and tried to unlock the hatch with the key. Supposedly you can turn it but it wont work..any suggestions...?

mmendez72mm, I see you have a 2004 Vibe, You can open the glass by itself by turning the key to the lock position, then turn it the same way a little more, past lock, it will pop the glass openbigdaddyjosh, your 2009 glass won't open independent of the hatch., but if your key turns but doesn't unlock the hatch, then at least you're still under warranty. I've never touched a 09 or 10 Vibe, my 03 the hatch lock just locks and unlocks the hatch, but doesn't pop the entire hatch open, still have to press the handle to open it. I assume 09s are the same way. I don't have power locks, so I don't know if the remote just unlocks the hatch or if it pops it open too.

The remote for the power locks (2007) unlocks all 5 doors, does NOT open the rear deck lid. Another separate button will unlatch the glass and only the rear glass.Also to unlock the doors you can press once for the drivers door only or press unlock twice and the entire car unlocks.Dave

I agree with bigdaddyjosh. The key is supposed to unlock the hatch and the glass from the back when you turn it but it doesnt work...I dont know if its the lock thats the problem or the key..
