Front lights

Post by SuPeRioN81 »

This is my first post. I just found some stuff lying around the house so I just messed around with it and put it on my front lights. Can you guys tell me what you think of it? It's not permanent, I just kinda layed it on there and took a picture of it. Thanks.

I think it is plastic and they stick out over the lights a little. Kind of like eye lashes.

At least I'm getting some input on it. Thanks guys. Basically, I was just messin around with some static tint type stuff and tried to make the lights look a bit meaner without going through a lot of trouble. The stuff costs like 5 bucks and about 10 minutes to cut out a shape. It was just an experiment, but I'm thinking about keeping it on for a while... just to stand out. I live near Fremont Cali so I see all the NUMMI employees with their Vibes. My bro works for them and he's building the 2004s right now, and everyday he lets me know what is different... if u have any questions for me to ask him just let me know and I will. And he's seen the "sunburst orange" color... in fact my cousin paints them. Well thanks for the input guys.

Yeah -- ask him why the paint job is so not durable. But seriously -- maybe he acn tell you -- is there anything we can do to get our paint fixed besides touch-up?I know it's kind of a dealer/warranty issue, but maybe he can help some of us out, give us some "code word" or something we can use to get a repaint job under warranty? And don't laugh fellow GVC members -- I've heard that some people walk into a dealer, say some phrase., and walk out wiht whatever the hell they want, under warranty...Also -- any way 2003 owners can get a 2004 dash wihtout paying a huge amount for a whole new cluster?

Wow.I like it.I really really REALLY like that.My brother has "eye lids" for his GTI, only his are plastic and painted, stuck on with automotive double sided tape. Gives a "meaner" look to his car.I have a shadow vibe, and I think something like this would look really really cool on it! :DIf you find a way to attach them so they don't come off, let me know. Hell, mb we can work something out because I would for sure pay for something like this.Me like, me want!

NUMMI stands for New United Motor Manufacturing Inc. just to clear things up. Geo I sent you an e-mail regarding your interest. If you didn't get it let me know. I'm gonna take more pictures of it so you can see it in different angles.

The material is this static tint, I sent some to Geo and we've been in contact and he thinks it sticks on very nicely. To make it a more permanent stick, attach it on with water and it sticks a lot better. I really haven't taken a look at how they are at night when driving, but I made them this way so that they don't get in the way of the lights. When the lights are on though, you can see the shape of it, but it's very subtle. During the day it looks great. Geo said he would post some pics up so we will see how it looks on his color vibe.If you have anymore questions, don't hesitate to ask. Also, I just spent the past two days driving about 200 miles on the Freeway 80+ speeds and they stayed on.

Front lights

Post by SuPeRioN81 »

I'm really don't know anything about cars, but I was driving home last night and all of a sudden my headlights went off... both of them at the same time. My Fogs, parking and high beams still worked though. Is it because my reagular lights burned out or is there something wrong with the wiring? I just found it peculiar, although I put them in at the same time, that they burn out at the exact same time. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it. Thanks

I have a few questions for you..1) Were they the stock/factory bulbs that went out or were they aftermarket?2) Have you done any modifications to the electrical system lately?3) Do you have another bulb to try to swap out to see if the bulbs are really burnt or if it is electrical-related?

I have a feeling the headlight fuse does not control fogs or parkign lamps...check the fuses in the engine fuse box...might've blown 'em.

Could it possibly be due to using H4's instead of 9003's? Don't H4's pull more current than the stock fuse can handle? Or am I just in La La land here?
