Ok first the Map light went. Then came the lighting around the radio area and at the automatic shift area. Now both rear driving lights are gone. What is freakin goin on here!!!!!!!! I checked all the fuses and they seem ok. Anyone know if the Matrix is having these bulb blowout problems as well? update:my problem with the taillights was indeed a fuse problem and not related to the bulb. just wanted to get the record straight.
Sorry ken...don't even know of any vibes having this problem...except you, that is...sounds like the electrical system may not be carrying the right current...or rather, too much...get it checked by the dealer!!!

Thanks Mike...Since many other vibes are losing their map lights prematurely, I'm thinking that it's the quality of the bulb that's the problem...and that they probably use bulbs from the same manufacturer for other places on the Vibe. I want to replace them first before going to the Stealer....but don't want to use the same bulbs. I've had this problem with my Suzuki motorcycle light bar going out prematurely...and the common fix on the motorcycle forum I belong to was to use "Honda" bulbs...never blew since. Hopefully its this easy on the Vibe as well...it's worth a try.

I've had mine almost a year now and not one bulb has blown.

I did have my map light go out...but we determined the bulb was defective, and the vacuum in the globe part of the bulb wasn't strong enough, and air got in, thus bruning out the bulb. That aside, have not had ANY other problems with bulbs. But the easiest way to get new bulbs is take out teh burnt ones, and go to an auto store or radio shack and show them what you need...

quote:My map light blew yesterday. Add me to the disgruntled list. I've probably used it twice - was checking for a dropped Twoonie in the dark and the light wouldn't go on... Will take it to dealer for replacement.Seems unusually high number of map lights are blowing -- perhaps a defective batch of bulbs?

This site actually has some nice pictures of our currency: http://www.vancouver.hm/money.htmlAnyways, I haven't had a problem yet, but then again I rarely use my maplight. Should I tempt fate and just turn it on and off a rediculous number of times?

sorry to hear about the bulbs blowing..first thing i thought of was heat, but it seems that these lights arent used that much, so that cant be it...could be low quality of bulbs....oh, that canadian $ is rather neat looking....
yea your not alone... my map light went out a couple of months after buyin my car... the light seems really intense, maybe they used the wrong type
