More from SC?

Post by 04chargedvibe »

Ok so im not a big guru about what to do and what to change to an engine to give it more punch. But if someone could point me in the direction i can usualy get it done. I was wondering if there are some things i could do/add/improve to help out and give the SC more kick, or the engine in general get more kick. any ideas?

you can go to a smaller pulley, get meth to help cool it, tuning solution, ported exhaust manifold, air intake.

give it a more aggressive tune or change the pulley size, bigger, injectors or a cat back exahaust. If you don't have a CAI that may help as well.

Yeah, mine came with the 2.4" pulley, there's a guy @ the matrix site that put on a small aluminum pulley with a diy install..but didn't say where he got it or how much..I looked on vortecs site and there smallest is the 2.4 looks like I'm gunna have to make some calls. Also the fifth injector kinda does suck, It either runs slightly lean or is always just dumping tons of fuel, the slightly lean is porbably because I'm at 5000 feet, but I'm sure the dump is from the fifth. Once I get some mulla saved I'm going to switch to the xrs injectors, but might leave the fifth untill I get an egt gauge.Does anyone now the boost numbers on this stock charger set up?

honestly you'd probably see a increase in mileage if you didnt drive "hard" and/or got a aftermarket tune as well. My SS/ms3 got 24 city because I drive hard and 33-35 hwy if I took it easy, but hell with FI how do you?! hahah

True, I routinely get 29 MPG with my Vibe...95% of my driving is stop and go, rush hour traffic. Average 32-33 MPG on the highway when taking long trips. The key is keeping my foot off the loud peddle. (which is not always easy to do! )
