http://www.cars.com/go/search/...ionalby sometime next week i should be getting this ride, an 02 Mazda Protege5, all pw, sunroof, 5spd man, and roof rack. any recomendations that i should do or look for before purchase?also anyone in the area want to meet up let me know.
Hey, that's not a vibe.....? J/K, cole. Not sure on the lifespan of these and not sure if the mileage is high or not....But it looks fairly decent. Looks like you'll be getting a little more HP and TQ compared to the Vibe. Not a bad replacement.

MP5!!! woot!! thats the 2.0 or 2.3? The car is pretty solid. I would bring it to a mechanic for a once over, should cost like $100. Make sure the clutch works and gears dont grind. Check all the fluids to make sure they arent old, check rubber boots and busings for cracks, hoses too in the engine bay. Check battery for corrosion. Honestly those cars are very solid so it probably just has the normal old car issues any car that age would have.

There are hundreds of Mazda sites out there. I am the Asst Admin/Super Mod on Mazdaforum. We are a smaller community. You should talk to wsoape281, Wes, one of my Moderators and a fellow Houstonite. He has and has had several P5's as well as several RX7's. He could certainly clue you in to what to look for.I am also a Moderator on Mazdas247.com... for the Mz3/MS3 crowd only, but I can give you a few names to ask and check out.edit: I just clicked the link and checked out the ad. $5500 seems a lot for an '02 w/132k on the clock. They aren't THAT well built. My '04 3 HB is only worth a bit more than that (w/54k on the clock,) and even w/o a sunroof, its more car than a P5.

no mazda site is like this one lol. MSF is all about modding and power, 24/7 well...most the ppl I know hate that site but Ive never even been on it. anyway, I like the protege speed, but a hatch...man its hard to not love those with all the room you get
well i havent been on MSF for over a year, but at the time i was on I was only in the ms3 section...I went back to sell stuff and it is not exactly like that.Yes I have seen groups of people make planned spam attacks on threads... I find it ridiculous but they find it funny. whatever...theres a reason I havent left GV
Interesting choice. I almost bought one back in 03 until a friend asked me to look at GM's offerings. Once I saw my Vibe GT there was no turning backOf course 0% financing over 4 years had a big part of it too.Hope it goes well for you
