GM: Bob Lutz to retire May 1

Post by kostby »

The man singlehandedly responsible for returning some of the excitement to Pontiac during his tenure at GM (GTO, Solstice, G8, Solstice Coupe...) is "retiring".Quote, originally posted by Excerpts from WSJ »General Motors Co. Vice Chairman Bob Lutz plans to retire on May 1, the company's latest high-profile departure under Chief Executive Edward E. Whitacre Jr., a person familiar with the situation said.Mr. Lutz, 78 years old, was GM's product chief for several years and is widely credited with revamping GM's lackluster vehicle lineup. Most recently he had been serving as an adviser to Mr. Whitacre, a role he assumed in December when Mr. Whitacre took the CEO job and removed Mr. Lutz from his position as head of marketing.Link to full article --> http://online.wsj.com/article/...lines

My 2003 Vibe Base Auto 2-tone Salsa "SalsaWagon" was built in May 2002. I acquired it in Feb 2004/Traded it in on a 2016 Honda HR-V in Feb 2018.

Can't blame him... He could only take so much crap from big Ed Whitacre. I hear big Ed is starting to fill executive spots with is ex pals at AT&T. I'm sure the musical chairs going on at GM is really going to help them! Joy!

When the thinking is everything that is being done is wrong, it is not a good sign. Some things may need to be modified, but to just change everything for the sake of it, is not productive.Did anybody notice that the sales reports no longer identifies sales by brand for Pontiac, Saturn, Hummer and Saab?
