Read an earlier thread on this solenid going bad. My problem is slightly different. Check engine came on and had two different freinds with computer diagnostics say this was the problem. This happened on Saturday. Sunday the light was off and have had no problem since. Experienced a couple occasions of bad shift when light was on Friday and Saturday. No problems since. Spoke to 2 tranny places and both said it could be a minor wire problem as well and to keep driving till it happens again so they can then check. Any similar problem or experience out there. Thanks in advance.
This is almost exactly what happened to me. See post http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=40156except my light stayed on. If you are under 80k miles I recommend getting it checked out as soon as you can. I was told by both the parts store and an independent mechanic that those hard shifts could damage the transmission.
I have a mechanic who works at a tranny service looking at it Saturday. The HARD shifts disappeared with the CE light. He is running diagnostics and checking ohms both hot and cold. Says it could be a wiring issue or a bad solenoid and this is the best way to determine. Thanks for your input.
Took it in to a tranny place who said solenoid is not the problem but the clutch had deteriorated to the point I need it rebuilt. Because of this the pressure was not operating in the proper range......now I am confused since they are talking an $1800 rebuild, to make matters worse warranty on certified used ran out 1/31/10 and they will not honor it
