Buying Genuine OEM Parts (online)

After picking up a 2004 Vibe this weekend, I found that I immediately needed some parts that could probably only be picked up at a Pontiac dealer. I got some estimates for the parts at a few local dealers and none of them had the parts in stock.I googled for OEM parts online and found several places (dealerships) that would sell parts online. I eventually found a dealer in TX that not only agreed to ship the parts the next day, but they were by far the lowest price.I haven't recieved the shipment yet, but I would like to make users of this forum aware of online retailers that offer low cost and good terms. Not sure if this is appropriate for this site, so I will wait and see if the moderators think this is inappropriate. I have no relationship with this particular online retailer, other than this purchase.

It is surely not inappropriate, as long as you are reporting from your own experience and there is no conflict of interest. On Genvibe you'll find many many references, good and bad, to suppliers (local and online) that members have found or done business with, from OEM parts to aftermarket mods and accessories. There are several "sticky" posts to record on line resources in different categories. Have a look around. There is also a for sale/wanted forum for sales between members only. You may offer items for sale after a minimum time as a member (I think its 30 posts and 3 months). This is done (I think -- I'm not a mod) to keep the board from commercializing but to let members who have good products to sell do so to other members.If you do post OEM source information, try and find the right forum for the part(s) rather than putting it in the lounge -- i.e. accessories would land under Exterior or Interior, radios under audio / electrical etc. That will make it easier for others to find. You also might briefly search there and see if the resource you have found is already mentioned in older posts. You'd be surprised at how much members have dug. Dealers who do business on ebay are common -- I just bought a pack of OEM oil filters from one in Texas over the weekend for a great priceWelcome to Genvibe and thanks for contributing
