Is it right that G6 was the last American manufactured Pontiac whereas 2010 Vibes are still being manufactured in CA and are considered to be non-American Pontiac?I had a search for 2010 Vibe and the result was like 6 of them? Also some dealer in AZ seem to have stock of the new 09 Vibe and they want 20K+ for the base model? Does this mean the value does not depreciate as much as I thought?

There are officially 3 types of 2009 vibe models. The base model, the AWD model and the GT model. My insurances consider my vibe to be a base model since it's not a GT nor an AWD model even if my Vibe has the 1SC package which adds the 2.4L and full interior equipment.

Next year production usually starts around May-June.My vibe in an 2009 but it was manufactured in February 2008 which is kinda ridiculous when you think about it.

Perhaps the scarcity of Vibes has dealers asking more for them - limiting factor is that the Matrix twin is still around. Also - the majority of websites I have seen do not show any price other than msrp, maybe net of rebates. The dealer discounts off that may be high and include dealer incentives. How did you search? I didn't think the search feature for Vibe was on the GM Website anymore.

Most auto manufacturers shut down for maintenance and any necessary retooling in late June and resume production in July. Typically any vehicle built from July-June is considered to be one model year. Examples:1984 Corvette went into production in March 1983, no 1983 model was offered. 1965 Mustang went into production on March 9, 1964. Enthusiast referred to this as the 1964 1/2 Mustang and the 1965 Mustang as those built between August 1, 1964 and June 30, 19652011 Chevy Cruze is rumored to debut sometime before summer.
