New Viber

Post by wgates »

Hey everyone, I just got my 09 2.4L last week (see photo). Loving it and recon it looks way better than Matrix when I had the option to choose from the two. Have a few quick questions here:1. The remote control seems to only be able to unlock the driver door whereas other doors are unaffected? I had to use the unlock button on the driver door to complete the whole unlocking? The locking bit works fine though (i.e. locks all five a time) there may be a silly setup I did wrong?2. Since it's my first car with tiptronic and i have not driven manual before, I mistakenly traveled on high speed on low gear for about half an hour, the gas consumption was like an order higher than should be. While I know this was stupid thing, so what could have been the bad consequence (I only did it once)? I heard some noise when I accelerate at then but no more when I am driving now. 3. Since I auctioned car from a rental company I did a oil change in a car repair shop immediately after. I am not too sure if he changed the filter? How could I tell (a very silly question) ? Should I then start going to Pontiac dealer to do oil changes ?thanks all !

To unlock the other doors you must push the unlock on your key 2 times. As for the driving at high revs just try not to do it it is hard on the engine. I do not go to the dealer for oil changes but if you payed for it they should of changed the oil filter. I usually go to the same place over and over and just assume they do everything they are supposed to do. welcome to genvibe

Welcome. Like midnightthunder89 said, if you press the unlock once it unlocks the driver's door, push it again and it will unlock the rest of the doors. You probably didn't do too much harm to your transmission by driving in a lower than recommended gear. It isn't good to keep the motor at such high rpms for that long, but I think you should be ok. Oil changes I do by myself. It's much cheaper and I get to spend some quality time with my car.

thanks for the replies above. I felt like to slap myself after discovering I have been letting the car run at 5000 rpm....I would love to do the oil change myself, but frankly I do not have much confidence at this stage. Any post in regard to the DIY vibe oil change ?
