As a few others have experienced on their 09 vibes, half way through winter my ABS, Flashing VSC Off, TC, and Brake Light are all on, taking it to the dealer tomorrow. Service guy said that he has yet to hear of this problem, so it has me worried. So far i have heard that the problems have been...1.) Evap Leak Error code.2.) Ice in the rims moving sensor out of place casing the error.3.) VSC connector corroding in the rear causing the error. My scan guage isn't reading any codes on mine though, has anyone else found any other causes?
This hasn't happened with my 09 Vibe, but interestingly enough I took my Vibe into the dealer in September because the Speedo was off by 5-7 mph. When the Techs looked it over, they said it was because of bad wheel speed sensors... Wheel speed sensors tell the car's computer how fast one wheel is traveling over another, if you apply your brakes and one wheel stops faster than the other, the ABS kicks in. If accelerating and the front wheels begin to spin faster than the rear, then the TCS kicks in, and so on.
Interesting, well the final diagnosis is a new Electronic Brake Control Unit. He said all the wiring and connections are fine, and those lights can mean multiple things, even a loose gas cap, and he said there were tons of codes that went off and were recorded. The previous owner lived up in the UP and traded the GT in because it could not make it up her driveway so im wondering if it was on its last leg anyways from her spinning out so much. The part is on back-order anyways, so im wondering if the units are failing in more cars, hopefully this new one will last, they seem pretty pricey if they break out of warranty.
I also just had this problem on my '09 Vibe GT. Thankfully it went away after a little while, but it was definitely disconcerting. Is it worth taking it in for service??
