Question about the gray body cladding.

Post by HORSESCO »

Since I am new to Vibe ownership, have to ask. Why do some have the cladding and some don't. I bought a base--but has power accessories and moon and tune pkgs, red -- but no body cladding. Why the difference? Thanks

If yours "doesn't" have the gray cladding, it is there just been painted. The Vibe came with either the two-tone (with the gray plastic cladding) or mono-tone paint scheme. If you look really close, you should notice a slight difference in the paint color between where the cladding is and vs. the body. The paint adheres differently to the plastic vs. metal. Many people will not be able to tell a difference because it is so slight and you have to look very close in order to tell a difference. You should post pics of your new ride!

I have a '03 GT with grey cladding, but I have an issue with it fading. Is there anything I can use to bring the dark grey color back to life? "Back to Black" doesn't seem to last more than a day or two. (Alan1705)

It's great to have another Lava. Good choice on the color.

Painted cladding (monotone) was an option, it cost more when buying a new Vibe.Quote, originally posted by alan1705 »I have a '03 GT with grey cladding, but I have an issue with it fading. I have grey cladding on mine. I wish I would have bought a monotone....too much upkeep. Looks like crap when its faded & most stuff washes off after it rains. There is a thread about some stuff called refinish restorer that Chevy Avalanche owners have been using with great success. Thay claim it can last up to a year & keep the cladding looking new.http://yhst-13811118617756.sto....html
