We just got this as a replacement for my wife's 15 yr old Saturn. It had been a good car for us and she drove it a long time, but its time for a change.Frosty Jake currently has 37k miles, is Frosty white/light gray. He is a 5-sp manual w/very few options. My wife doesn't go out for all the fancy power things. Her knowledge of modern technology makes me look like a genius, which I am not. It's 28* out there today so these are some pics from the dealership:*edit*I'm going to start a running wish list here just to keep it all straight in my head, and so in case any of you have tried some of these and have suggestions you can add them here. I won't have time (or the memory) to list them all right now, so I will likely be updating this post as I remember/think them.0) Change the wimpy horn to something with some bullocks. (via HPL )1) First has to be tires. I'm looking into Conti's new DWS series or Kumho's new LX Platinum series. OE size (205/55-16) is fine.2) Lamin-X headlamp film in either light blue or clear3) Upgraded H4 bulbs (Haven't decided which way to go yet. Suggestion appreciated.)4) Improved/updated tail lights... Cleared LEDs if possible.5) Hyper yellow or LED fog lamp bulbs6) Make a hard "security" cover for the hatch area. (The wife's first request.)7) Front license plate delete. (Already NIXed by the wife. )8) Repaint (blk) the factory steelies.9) Heavier rear sway bar (Progress 22mm?)10) Shorty or Shark Fin antenna.11) Install the JCV D-DIN head unit out of her Saturn.12) Replace all four speakers w/upgrade. Nothing too fancy or expensive (6-1/2" Pioneer?)13) Better shift knob. Perhaps the OE from the Mazda will fit? ('Don't know if the wife will approve.)14) Vent visors? ('Don't know if the wife would approve.)15) Eventually upgrade the clutch. A Stage1 might be better.16) Rain-X Latitude beam blade wipers. 17) Upgrade the shocks/struts when its time. (Koni? Bilstein? KYB?? )18) Street sport springs. She will NEVER go for this one I'm sure. (Canuck, Eibach Pro, or Tein H-Tech's if available.)19) (And this shouldn't wait till the end of the list.) Upgraded brake pads. (EBC? Hawk?)20) The Xenonstore LED 3rd stop light (on order 12/26/09)21) Gas hood strut kit (on order 12/29/09, eBay)

Yeah, we are both avid stick drivers, though it does seem to limit your choices these days, especially when buying a used car.I wasn't so sure about the clutch at first. Its a little funky feeling, but my wife claims she will get used to it. I LOVE the shifter though. Pretty good for a factory unit and heads and tails better than her old Saturn was/is. The throws are shorter than the short shifter in my Mazda3!!

Nice Vibe (most are!) and nice color combination, too. 37K is not even broken in on this car. Hope it was well maintained. They are a durable and super efficient little car. Watch out for wet roads if it still has original Goodyear RS-A tires after those miles.

So much I would like to do to this car, and so much that could be done. Of course my wife being the primary driver will NIX most of it.I'm going to start a running wish list here just to keep it all straight in my head, and so in case any of you have tried some of these and have suggestions you can add them here. HPL, you're absolutely right. The OE horn is pretty wimpy. The same was true of my Mazda3 and I did eventually repl... add to it (Highway Blaster, low tone.) But neither of us are horn users really, so its kinda' low on the list of priorities. Love to have a set or two of the Hellas!! (post updated ^^^)

Well, I feel it was time to update this thread as I have made significant progress on my list above, particularly since I don't always have to car available to work on. A few things have changed, added or subtracted but really moving along nicely I think.http://forums.genvibe.com/zero...85478Still need some new pictures though. Only bits and pieces as I've done a few things.Oh, and HPL, be sure to check out the horn section.
