Good New Car Deals in Today's Paper

Post by jake75 »

Although not in the market, I always read the Saturday car ads to keep up. Lately there have been few ads that would prompt me to buy even if I were in the market. However today a Toyota dealer had several smoking deals with discounts and rebates on about every 2010 model in the Toyota line - but no mention of the Matrix. Also some good deals on Hyundai advertised. I think late December is a particularly slow time for car sales so the dealers and manufacturers might both be sharpening their pencils now.

GST 5%PST 7%Any dealer levies for paperwork and such...There are no vehicle inspections for cars and trucks bought and sold within the province of BC except for Aircare in the Vancouver area.VAT - Not sure what you mean but I'm sure we have a tax like thisThe final price on the car would probably be around $22'5-$23'5. I can't remember if we pay the pst on vehicle purchases....

I meant to say GST, not VAT. VAT = value added tax.I assume PST = provincial sales tax.

Yup, and soon to be combined into the 12% HST (harmonized sales tax)Whay tax diffrent things at diffrent rates when you can tax most everything at the same if not higher rate. Now everything that was pst exempt (many things from houses to burgers) will cost you 7% more!VAT - ICBC will add this when you register your used vehicle purchase if they feel you paid too much below market value!
