I changed my battery a week ago - today the check engine light came on - check gas cap and gas tank is full. Manual says changing the battery can affect this. Any ideas?
Is everything running well? When you disconnect the battery you've interrupted all power to the computer thus causing it to forget everything it has learned about your car and driving habits.Either disconnect the battery again, though the light will most likely come on againDrive it for a week or two, all the variables should be relearned and the system will shut the light off all by itself IF all systems are good.or Get it hooked up to an OBD II diagnostic device, pull the code or codes and reset the light and also repair whatever the codes indicate.Dave

Any ideas?I've got lots of ideas. I just had a similar situation last week with mine. Give some more details on how the car is acting/codes.
