Does the 05 key have a transponder/transmitter chip?

The car only came with one key, I'd like to get some extras obviously. Do the keys for the 05's have a chip in the key or can I go to whereever and get spares cut?

No its just a normal key no kind of chip in side it.

Go to Walmart. The key blank is #35. I had a bunch made off my factory original keys. (I have an '05, too) Getting keys made is pretty cheap at Walmart, and I never had a single problem. They have a machine that does the key cutting, so it's as idiot proof as possible.If you need/want an extra keyless remote, I got a little carried away when I bought spares.
