I heard stories of a mountain in KY or TN actually sliding off killing people at a campground and creating a lake, this was years ago. Now sure how accurate it is...

There are currently boulders the size of houses sitting on I-40 on the TN/NC border...it's expected to be closed for months for cleanup and additional blasting to get some even larger boulders off that are barely hanging on.
