Factory radio w/equalizer exchange

Post by 455SD »

Is there any difference in the wiring/speakers between a base radio and the radio the factory included in the sun& sound package? Looking at a vibe with the base radio(I think...looks different than the one in my now dead Vibe) and need to know what all I would have to change to upgrade to the EQ AM/FM/single CD player. The one that is in the vehicle I'm looking at can be seen in the attached image and I want to swap in the EQ. Thanks

Hi and welcome to GV..!!As far as I know, that radio doesn't have any internal amp... The 2 upgraded systems have an external amp that sits under the passenger seat.. In lew of that, you would be far better off going with an aftermarket unit.. You'll get more power (though not much) more features and more control..

Thanks, I really want to keep the vehicle stock and I know that on some, the wiring harnesses are the same. You just need to find the connector and plug-n-play the components. I thought maybe the Vibe was like that. Anybody know for sure if it is?
