All weather mats?

Post by slmclarengt »

Is it worth it to get one for the area of Spokane, WA? It does get some snow, ice and overall pretty ugly winters and am wondering if we should get the front/rear pieces (cargo likely not needed). Vehicle: White 09 Manual 2.4L BaseAny ideas, particularly if you are in a snowy/wintry area like Spokane usually? Also, WHICH one would be the most advised, the GM, WeatherTech, or another one. Obviously, it defeats the purpose to just have a clear flat mat in the winter as the water would just flow right into the sides and not protect the interior at all. Thanks!

I have the GM all weather mats and highly recommend them. We've had a lot of rain during the past month in my area, and I've been so thankful I had something other than the carpeted mats. Sometimes the snow and ice here in Missouri can be pretty bad too, so we'll see how the mats hold up this winter.

WeatherTech Floor Liners or Husky - they offer the most protection

I had looked at all 3: GM, Weathertech and Husky. Weathertech I heard did not fit correctly.Husky looked good, but from some of the images made the drivers side look "bucket-like" rather than discreet mat-like. Plus, I'm a Cougar, my rivals are Huskies :-)Would I have to pay full price for the GM mats or are there better prices elsewhere? (I would try to work with my dealer to get a better deal, but are there other ways of getting it for less?)Thanks

I'm seeing that the Weathertech custom made Vibe mats can be purchased for $100 free shipping for front + rear rows. This is better than most other sites sell them for or even GM sells their own for.Should I be concerned whether or not they will fit because the vehicle is a manual 2.4L? What made you choose Husky liners over Weathertech for your 08 vibe?

Weathertech says their mats are not 'custom fitted' specific to the vehicle, but "should" fit fine. I like the idea of Weathertech if they will fit well/perfectly/comfortably without having to mod them and if they really are $100 shipped. But I'd love to know other options.

What about these Husky Liners?http://www.streetsideauto.com/...=TrueP.S. I've got Push E-mail that tells me when you respond, hence the fast responses :-). It doesn't hurt that I'm looking still for a good deal, but good quality one while responding to e-mails/threads.

Alrighty! I ordered the Husky Mats in my previous post for $87 shipped! That's with the 10% off coupon Performance. I tried using Cashback through live.com as well, but I think that only works without coupons...Wish me luck and I hope these mats are awesome!

Good price Pullman! I went with Lloyd's Rubbertite but the cost almost exactly the same and I think the one's you are getting offer a bit more protection around the sides. (I preferred the look of the Lloyd's).

Do they use the corrosive yet effective salt, or the less corrosive and less effective salt?Around here, we use gravel.

I said I would let you know how the all weather mats are going so here I am.The Husky custom fit 2009 Manual Vibe mats fit perfectly in the vehicle. They look great and do truly save a lot of junk from getting on the carpet. One caveat: they are a little close to the clutch so pushing all the way down (no shortcuts) is mostly necessary. But when I was just driving it yesterday/saturday, I did not drive any differently than I normally would so perhaps it just took some time to form fit behind the clutch comfortably. Sorry I forgot to take pictures, but they are all black and cover all areas dirty feet could ever get to practically ;-).Slm

The fitted all weather mats are great for keeping the winter sludge from ruining the carpets. Only thing is they are expensive. I've tried Weather Tech, OEM Toyota and the ones you can find in places like WalMart and auto parts stores. As long as they fit where your feet go, and can hold water from leaking into the carpet, any will do. My wife has her Toyota mats and I have my WalMart mats. The difference is, mine don't have a logo, but they still fit pretty well. Her's are spot on for fit... but a lot more $$. With the black carpet in my Vibe, the black mats disappear, anyway. Just remember one thing. Floor mats can kill.
