Will there be issues with GM if I remove it? Do I need to save it for any reason? Anyone remove theirs and if so, how do you get it to come off without leaving any residue?

Whatever you do DO NOT touch that sticker.... !!.......................Kidding..... Not sure what you mean by "on top"... on the case, inside the dash?? If so, that's simply for tracking of parts at the factory.. everything is bar coded.. No issues, unless it's something else..
Well, it's stuck right on the silver dash panel, directly above the radio, so it is visible and not hidden.I'd like to remove it but don't want to find out later that it is some radio code and now it is a hassle later on for warranty repair, theft replacement, OnStar subscription, etc.

I had that on my 2005 vibe. I just pulled it off, and stuck it on the inside front cover of my owners manual, in case that was an unlock code for the radio if the power was ever disconnected (like when you change the battery)

Assuming it's the one pictured here - then yes, it comes off with no residue and you don't need it. Normally the dealer should have removed it for you. I got them to leave everything intact inside so that I could "unwrap" it all myself. Some people might look at it as "work" - but being MY car it was kinda fun! Driving with the plastic on the seats was a bit fun too - talk about slippery!John
i just stuck it in my owners manual. i thought it was the radio code or something? as sometimes when you disconnect the battery you need a code to made the radio work again. my accord needed a code to work if it's unplugged so i thought it's that but not sure tho lol
I have disconnected my radio before and can confirm that no code is required to get it working again. I was expecting the radio to have a code (because my old Civic had one), so I asked the salesperson where the code was when I picked up my car. She had no idea what I was talking about.
Cool! If no one has had an issue with it I'll peel it off and save it in the manual just in case.

That's how the government tracks you. You'll need that bar code to get universal health care.

I assumed it was the XM Radio registration number.

Could be. I peeled it off last night - no residue!
