Removed back windshield wiper

Post by cp_stunna_2011 »

I removed back windshield wiper for pure aesthetic appeal and it looks great, i barely use it so i figure why have it, i took some time, but it looks amazing. it left a hole but i simply put one of those plastic clip things ( like the ones found under your hood holding that foam sound deadening stuff on ) and super glued into the hole. HAs anyone else done this?

My rear window get really dirty during winter and the wiper is really useful when deicing I think that rear wiper is a must for security on all hatchbacks...

I also use mine. Way back when in the old days, there weren't rear wipers and then someone said, "I'm sick of having a rear window I can't see out of, let's put a wiper on the rear glass!" the rest is automotive history.

ill get pics up sometime, and if i get bored with it i can always just put it back on, not that hard, just takes time. I have put rain-x on it so water doesnt really stick to it, and even if its not dirty i have an obsession with cleaning the windows so they always stay nice, even in the winter.

Normally, the glass gets smeary in wet weather, but you can still see through it ok. With rainx, all the spray just beads up and makes it impossible to see through. Sometimes I'll let the back window get really dirty, and then write a message in it, usually genvibe.com but other times a seasonal or holiday oriented picture or message. Today its a jackolanternI almost never use the rear wiper, but I'm happy to leave it on for those times when I need it.

Is that dirty art or dirty messages on the rear window? I can't see why we would ever take the rear wiper off, other than to maybe make the Vibe lighter. Might want to take the wiper motor out as well, could save another few ounces. This could start a lightening trend. Just don't take the windshield wipers off for asthetic reasons, even if they're double ugly, compared to the rear wiper. These come in pretty handy at times.

You could achieve more weight reduction by just getting into the habit of taking a dump before driving. Or perhaps driving naked!
