easy scratch complaint

Post by meathead333 »

well, i havent really noticed everyones complaint about the paint being scratched easily until today. i was getting in my car when i noticed 2 streaky looking scratches. not sure if it was dirt, water or so on, i took my finger nail and kinda rubbed it. well in fact it was a scratch. the real bad thing is, i added a scratch with my finger nail when rubbing it!! i couldnt believe it.

I noticed that too. The paint is really poor on these great cars. Chip and scratch way too easily. Lava.

There is a known problem with the door moldings not holding the paint. GM is fixing said problem, and will be using a different door molding. When I get word of the new ones being out... I'll let everyone know, and try and get some part numbers or something if people want to replace their chipped up door moldings (the stripe down the middle of the doors)

Yes yes. I noticed that too. The door moldings go flat very soon. Shouldn't there be a service bulletin on that if GM knows it's a problem?

I don't know what the deal is with that, sorry I can't be more helpful.

From my understanding, paint issues don't typically qualify for service bulletins. Usually only performance or mchanical isues do...As for paint, you're right, it's horribly prone to scratching...I noticed yesterday a big black mark on the lower cladding right behind my rear tire...I scrubbed myself to death, but it won't come off.

I went on my rant about this a couple weeks ago. The problem is real...the solution is not. http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=3787
