radio lock

Post by vibe2k5 »

hello to everyone, i bought a used vibe and so far enjoying it. i just like to know more about the radio lock (OE HU). would it mean my radio won't work if ever i unplug it? what if i'm going to change the battery, will it lock up the radio? if it locks up, what can i do? i also own a honda and they provided me a radio code. thanx and more power!

you didn't say what year Vibe you had, but based on your username of vibe2k5, if you have a 2005, then no worries, the OEM radio doesn't have a lock, so you can unplug it with no issues I don't know about the 09/10's though.

yup, mine is a 2005 vibe AT. now my next question is...i'm considering to get an '03 matrix HU (radio + CD + cassette), have any idea if it will work on my vibe? don't laugh, i know cassette is an old school but got lots of them (also great memories). besides, i still want to have the OE look in my dash. thanx again.

its 100% plug&play. I know because I've done that on my 03 Vibe, my son's 03 matrix, and my brother's 05 vibe.I've been able to find them pretty cheap on ebay from time to time. we use them with cassette adapters, makes for an easy aux input
