Warning about Tire Pressure Sensors

Post by clm22 »

I wanted to warn everyone who has a Vibe with the Tire Pressure Monitering system installed. I have an 09 Vibe that had to have the drive side Aire Pressure sensors replaced due to them being damaged at the car wash (due to an exteneded stem cap catching on something and ruining them. You can't reset the TPM system yourself when you have one or more replaced. It has to be done at a dealership (due to the new one haveing to be "registered" in the system. My dealership foundout today (by trial and error) that when you replace one, you have to re-enter all of them at the same time. So if any of you have to have one or more of them replaced, make sure you let the service rep know that all 4 have to be re-registed, not just the new one(s). Hopefully you won't have to wait 3 1/2 hours for them to discover this themselves like I did.One other note, Pearson Pontiac in Sunnyvale, CA had one new, black 10 AWB Vibe for sale (with chrome wheels) as of 9/13/09, in case anyone is looking for one. They also had a silver 09 2.4 used model on the lot.09/10 Vibes are almost impossible to find in the SF Bay Area now.
Gettin' the Vibe in NoCal!
