Hi all:I bought a 2010 Vibe last month. Love the car as a car so far, but I am about to find out how it is as a utility vehicle. I bought and installd the Toyota factory roof racks and they installed perfectly....and quite easily I might add. Now, for the test.....I need to pick up some lumber for a project. I need a few sheets of 4X8 plywood and I was wondering if anyone has ever hauled any lumber on their Vibe's racks. Do you think the Vibe can handle 4-5 sheets of Plywood?
I haven't used my Vive rack for anything quite that big, although it might be possible.Look at the maximum weight recommended for the Toyota rack. Should handle the plywood OK, but don't load over that weight limitation and make sure you keep speeds reasonable. Also, make sure you tie them down well. You don't want plywood sheets sailing off the car, potentially injuring someone or damaging your car or someone elses in the process. A friend with a pick-up truck might be a safer choice!Good luck!

Yeah.,..I agree with the pickup. I just like being a little self sufficient when I can. I'm leaning towards a hitch with a small utility trailer for future projects. In the mean time, I'll my get my neighbor to help me move the lumber this weekend.thanks again....
