2005 Pontiac Vibe AUX jack installation

Post by vincentdb3 »

I installed an AUX jack into my 2005 Vibe. I used the GM12-AUXv2 converter and the 3.5mm AUX jack. All my wiring is correct. I double checked. The plug-in harnass fits perfectly and the + and ground wiring is correct. The Vibe has a in-dash 6 CD player. (moon & tunes package). When I use the CD/AUX button, it does not switch over to the AUX setting. In fact, I tried all the buttons. The instructions say you can use the 'track up/down' buttons to switch between the CD and AUX input, but there is no 'track' button on the factory unit. So, after all the time and money I spent on the installation, I still cannot listen to my iPod. The supplier of the converter told me that they would help me wherever they can, but I've send emails and made calls, but nothing. So, I need your help please. Thanks.

Thanks for reply. The FM/AM & CD/AUX button is one selector. The FM/AM side switches between FM1, FM2 & AM, & the CD/AUX will only do the CD/radio. Tried all the buttons. No luck. The unit does not even see the iPod. I see you had success with yours. Mine is a big let down so far.

How about this:Jumper settings:The GM12-AUXv2 has in internal jumper (J2) that must be configured according to your application:1. For radios with "BAND" button, jumper must be in "XM" position. (Uses "BAND" button to access AUX 1 or 2).. NOTE: Same audio source will play regardless of AUX1 or 2.2. For radio without "BAND" button, jumper must be in "CHANGER" position. (Uses "CD/AUX" button to access changer mode or Auxiliary input)Click here for INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS http://www.discountcarstereo.c...D=446 I might give it a try for my radio lol

Badbrew, you are a genius! My radio does not have a XM selector, so I never thought of trying to place the jumper on the XM pins. After switching it over, it allows for the FM/AM to switch to the AUX input. Great! Now I'm happy jamming along on my iPod. Thanks!! 100x. That will teach me to read the damn instructions more carefully...
