My dream car, a 1987 Pontiac Firebird Formula with T-tops! I was really going to wait, but the perfect car came along, it isn't the Trans AM like I wanted, but the bumpers were replaced so it looks like one... No worries, the Vibe isn't going anywhere for about a year.

I vote a crate 383 and leave it carbed.. clear out all that clutter from the engine bay, make it look real nice with just a few hoses and wires.. They can handle too, with the right mods and tires.. lol..CONGRATZ..!!

I vote for cramming in a 455 crate with a 4speed M22, but that wouldn't be cheap...

Quote, originally posted by star_deceiver »It's easier to tune, mod and adjust...I'd want to do EFI, but I would want to be able to tune it myself as well... I hate not knowing what the tune on my Subie is doing... It drives me nutz, but I can't afford the 6-700$ it would cost me to get a proper dyno/tune session.. I can't do fuel maps and ignition retard maps.. lol... not to mention injector dwell and duration, all that jazz...With a carb, things are a lot easier.. And you don't have so many sensors cluttering up the engine bay... Those cars look amazing with a clean engine bay.. both carbed and injected... They just have to do a better wire tuck on the injected ones to clean them up .... I'm a import guy right now, but I wasn't always, i've got STACKS of Car Craft and Hot Rod mags (Truckin', Minitruckin ect), I was ready to get a '70 C-10 Chevy pick-up and dump that sucker on bags, before I saw my beloved beauty I grace you with every time I post...
engine compartment looks pretty tight to do much in.I vote for fuel injection. Fought carbs enough back in the day, I really like the always ready part of a fuel injected car. Same with electronic ignition. I don't miss using a dwell meter to adjust points.Looks like it's in great shape. If this is another "I bought a charger" thread I didn't fall for it. But if its for real, then congrats.
