Cooling fan relay...

Post by danvin »

Hi everyone.I got a problem this week-end with my cooling fan. Now, the only level working his HI ! I do not get any blowing for the first 3 levels of the fan. Air condionning is working, but also at HI level. I tried to switch 2 relay in the fuses box, nothing changed. What's the difference between relay FAN No.1 and relay FAN No.2? Do I have to change relay FAN No.2? (I switched FAN No.1 relay cause it seems to have a spare in the box, beside relay FAN No.2)By the way, I used a lot the interior outlet, like 2 hours at a time. Could that be the source of the problem?TanxDan

welcome to genvibe sounds like a blower resistor issue -- fan will only work on high. sorta a common issue - it happened to me 2 years ago. http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=36099

Thank you for your help.Could that be a fuse to replace instead of a relay or the blower itself?

Definately sounds like the resistor. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but i believe there is only a fan relay for the electric fan that cools the radiator.

If it runs on high, the blower, relay and fuse are all good. The resistor is an external separate item, and there is a growing number of vibes that have had it fail, with your exact symptoms.
