I replaced my third tire on my 09. The first two were replaced due to hitting a piece of cement on the freeway, so that doesn't necessarily count, but the third one developed an impact bulge from hitting what I suspect was a pothole at about 40 mph.
...yep, with the rim sitting so much closer to the ground, it doesn't take much of a pot-hole to compress the tread up against the rim/bead area and crush the intervening rubber...at which point things are effectively "solid" and cutting/crushing damage occurs.
...and the Devil said: "...yes, but it's a DRY heat!"

No problems here in the land where the US state dept issues travel advisories for pot holes to its citizens. Could also be a sign of under inflated tires. Side wall blistering is usually caused by the rubber being pinched between the rim and edge of the pot hole when the tire is under inflated. My '09 even with the TPMS sensors will allow the tire pressure to drop as much a 12 PSI before triggering the warning light. I would check the tire pressure in the morning when it is the coolest. if pressure is checked when hot the air pressure drops when cools.
