Moon roof entry?

Post by Good Vibe Rations »

i remember a few days ago there was some one saying that a Vibe could be broken into by finding the code for the rear hatch window,i was also thinking what would stop anyone from smashing the moon roof window and sliding back the inside roof cover there is no lock inside right?a person then could get inside and open the doors, and no one would know it was broken into untill they got inside even the Police on a routine patrol especially if you had tinted windows right?

They're not likely to smash the moon roof, because (A) it's a very small opening, most people won't fit through it. (B) It's on the roof, to get to it and/or smash it will be more likely to get them caught then a side entry, (C) it's easier and faster to go in a side door/window. (D) I don't think it's as common these days to break a window as it is to pick a lock, use a code finder, or force entry in a quieter, less conspicuous way. Of course, this is all IMHO.

smash the moon roof to gain entry, nah too much work. if you have an alarm that would set off the shock sensor FOR SURE!!!! could you imagine some dork on the roof of your car while the light are flashing and the alarmis goin off!!! HEY LOOK AT ME!!!!! the moon roof can take a beating and can not just be pryed back from the home postion.

One thing I do know is in my accident with my sunfire, most of the glass shattered in the car...but the moonroof, rather than shatter, popped up and slid back...now I don't know if that says anything about the strength of the glass, but the fact that the windshield shattered before the moonroof did leads me to believe it's pretty damn strong...
