Swapping out for factory XM tuner for aftermarket XM tuner or Sirius

Post by koolkinkajou »

We just traded in the 2006 Vibe AWD for the 2009 Vibe GT and it has XM built in which is nice. What is not so nice is that we have a Sirius Lifetime subscription. The two alternatives are 1. Converting the XM Radio to Sirius keepin while keeping the OEM configuration2. Swapping out the factory XM tuner with a aftermarket XM tuner so that you can transfer out a XM lifetime subscription when we sell the car off (unfortunately the Vibe will only live on in the MATRIX!-)(If you don't know once you put a lifetime subscription $399in a OEM radio they don't let you swap out the subscription unless someone steals your OEM radio or smashes it accidenlty with a hammer. Since I don't live in NJ anymore this could be a problem LOL )(By the way if you are on the fence about getting one of the last gen vibes, I highly recommend it. From someone who has driven both, the GT '09 Vibe drives like a sports car compared to the '06 models. The dealers are blowing them out the door cheap)Anybody have any ideas on this?
