Inside Hatch Release

Post by silvrhawk7 »

I was curious in regards to the hatch release mechanism, is that inside the wiper housing, and what does the wiring harness/connector look like? the reason i ask is i stumbled across a connector in the dashboard yesterday in the area where the button would normally be placed, i will have pics soon as i have to get them off of my phone. obviously my car didnt come with the electric release (Much less electirc anything but the sunroof) but it would be a nice accessory to have so i dont have to keep using the key. I did try and use search but i couldt come up with anything, maybe i was using the wrong syntax or something....EDIT:OK, during my lunch break, i did some more investigating on the tailgate, found where the release was inside of it so i answered one of my own questions, and unfortunately will need to find an electric actuator from a junked vibe or matrix up to 2008. Still wondering what the connector in the dash goes to though...

Any luck on the hatch release? I bought a 2009 without power door locks. I agree, not having an electric or inside manual hatch release is a PITA. Please advise if you had luck and what you did. Thanks,Doug

check which fuse is the hatch release. if not installed. put a fuse in then check voltage at the connector. usually car manufacurers will install the wiring for accessories weather you have them or not. saves money not having to make diffrent harnesses. .if youre handy you can buy a universal power door lock kit from ebay for less than 20 bucks for the actuator. or check your local autoparts store for a universal solenoid.
look my sniggies, i had a strizz-oke in my brizz-ain okay, you know what im saying. so i cant move all good. but thanks for mentioning that .thank you very much.athf4evr. click here! you know you want to!!!
