Reinstalling the Clutch and Transmission

Post by Kylephoto »

Hey guys,I just blew out the clutch on my 04 GT and Im replacing it with a SPEC stage 1.I got everything out and off without any problems and reinstalled the Flywheel (after resurfacing), pressure plate and clutch. Yesterday I spent about 3 hours wrestling with the Tranny to get it back onto the engine. Ive got it most of the way but it keep bumping into motor mounts and not lining up straight. Ive got a few of the bolts started to be threaded back in but there is still a gap and it wont close. Any suggestions? I did center the pressure plate and clutch with the centering tool and it all lines up as far as I can tell but it just wont slide the last inch to fully connect. Any help would be great. Thanks!

I can't remember. Even if the clutch is centered, is it possible you need to turn the tranny input shaft, or perhaps the engine, to get the splines on the input shaft to line up with the clutch?
