Maaco Quality?

Post by ragingfish »

Does anyone know if Maaco does a quality paint job? I see them advertising paint jobs for $229, and that seems unusually low...I'm thinking of getting my car a fresh coat of paint at the end of the celebrate it's first year...after all, it's paint already looks pretty lousy.

Maaco and quality are two words I've not often seen associated before. However, about 7 years ago, my parents took their little car out to have it repainted when it started peeling. It was one of those no sand, no prep, just paint deals and it's still on there to this day. It's never been waxed or anything. Of course, it's been garaged a lot of the time. It's just an around town car.

Well, let me just say this.A $229 paint job is a $229 paint job. You get what you pay for! ^_^

What could I expect to pay for a very good paint job?

I'd say you're looking around $1500 or $2000 for a decent prep and paint.

It looks horrid. And I'm scratched to hell. So I'd ideally get a repaint (two coats possibly), clear coat, and then a strong solid wax coat to help fend off any new scratches...
