Insulating A/C Pipe?

Post by zdkaiser »

I was thinking about insulating the A/C pipe under the hood that runs into the cabin. I was going to use the basic 1 split foam pipe insulator (bought at Home Depot). I was wondering if this is going to make any difference, as the A/C in these Vibes are pretty weak? Also, is the foam going to melt or catch on fire? Anyone have any experience with this?By the way, I would be modding a 2007 base Vibe.Thanks.

Here's another thread, with pics, about the same thing (thought I'd post it before the search Nazis chimed in )http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=4914

I did this a while back and didn't notice any difference. Waste of time IMO.

It doesn't work. The cold line is coming from the passenger compartment - not going to it.http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=29064
