I have an 04 automatic vibe. and anytime i go past 40 miles an hour and let it coast my two front wheels start singing to me it sounds like those glass cups when u rub ur finger on the rim.Any ideas what it could be ?
It's the screech tabs on the front brakes. The brake pads are worn to their service limits and there is a small tab that rubs the disc to create that audible alert.
I would love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code
Does it happen only on particular roads? If I get on the freeway and head south, for the first 5 miles or so I get a similar singing sound but then it goes away. This will happen with no matter what car you are in. It started after the road was resurfaced. The crazy singing road.

Sounds like at least a brake job is on order.. If it's something you could do yourself, I have a tutorial on it, shows all the major points of the service.. Some "brake quiet" on the pads could be in order as well..
What tires and what kind of road surface? I had a set of Michelins a hundred years ago that made a nice little whine on smooth tar or smooth super slab at 40 to 60 mph. If you hear a screech when you apply the brakes, that's the front wear indicator and time for new pads.
