Paint cracking on inside door panel- covered under warranty?

Post by zdaliah »

Our 2009 vibe is only about 15 months old, and I just noticed today that the silver paint on the inside of driver side door panel is cracking and peeling off. This is along the upper middle of the door above the armrest, which does not even get touched or leaned on at all when driving.Would this be covered under warranty? or considered wear and tear?can't believe this is happening only after a year.. makes me wonder what may be next to go

Almost makes you wish you had bought a "real" GM car...instead of a Toyota.I have a 03...and it has 140,000 kms on it and the engine and tranny are solid but wow the rest of the car is gone to h%$l...I cant wait for GM's new line up of cars, but my wife wont let me trade her in until we can free up some $$$.lol

Thanks for the heads up about the paint defect. I have to watch out my doors interior as well. My is about a year old. Did you ever look at the top plastic engine cover ( on the 2.4l engine) concerning the silver painted letters. The paint is coming off of that as well. I bet it is coming off because there is no special primer base paint under the finish coat.
