AC Air Filter

Post by Digger »

I took mine out today and it was black. I thought why not clean it. I tapped it out.then mixed up some dish soap and water and put it in. After cleaning it and rinsing it out I hit it with the air from my compressor to get the crevises clean. Worked like a charm.

http://logical-source.com/PONT....html I ordered three for around $20. So they're more like $6-7, but I'd rather not clean it - just replace it every year...I have seen them cheap elsewhere too...

I washed mine out before too, nothing wrong with that. It will hold you over for a while until you can fork over the dough on a new one.I was looking at Pep Boys the other night, they're still $30 for the Vibe - a whopping $5 discount over OEM. Even the one for my Accent runs $17 there which oddly enough is $3 more than the OEM version from the dealer. I may see if the Hyundai's will fit in the Vibe, it's a better built filter than the Vibe's and I can replace the filters in both cars for less than what I'd pay for one filter at GM.The furnace filter thing sounds interesting though. I have a few that I bought that we'll never use, the cheap blue ones. We're using the allergy control filters instead. But I doubt these cheap little things would really filter much.
