lower ball joints

Post by vibe11 »

replaced right and left side lower ball joint and the right side wheel bearing on monday. it was a pain the the a**. replaced the front rotors. got an alignment got and my right side toe is still off by +38 degrees. i watched them do it they maxed out the tie rod and the toe is still off so now i need a new tie rod. to make things worse i noticed yesterday that i have a hole in my outers drivers side cv joint boot and it costs 180 to replace a boot!! err

AFA the CV boot, how about a whole axle shaft? I can get one for my Subaru for about 75$ + core.. (150 total without) maybe that would be cheaper than the boot alone..?+38 degrees, holy mother of god, you aren't driving the car are you? It's gotta be shredding the tire.. or is that +3.8...?? What was so bad about the ball joint replacement?

did not hit anything, just wanted to replace somethings before a road trip. i read the sheet wrong the right side is off 1.3 degrees. and tuffy is replacing the cv joint boot since they slit it when they were aligning the car.
