Hi! This is my first post, and I can see lots of you have much love for the Vibe as well as tons of experience and knowledge about it!Currently, I have a 2005 VW GTI, but I am thinking about trading it in, as I'm starting to have some maintenance issues with it... Surprise surprise.. I have been facinated with the Vibe since a friend of mine years ago had one, and his was gorgeous. Do you think that the Vibe will hold its value better than ever now, given the current market situation with Pontiac? I am feeling like this might be a great time to grab one up! Thanks!!-Amy
It's a good car but it's not going to be worth much later. The toyota will have a higher resale later.
'04 lava GTSRI, Progress rear sway bar, Infinity reference backs, components in the front, Infinity Kappa 124.7w sub, Alphasonik 600rms@2ohms for the sub, alpine head unit, worst paint ever!
i would still consider it a good investment. I'm knocking on wood as I write this, but the Vibe has been virtually trouble-free for us, especially compared to the 99 VW Jetta we had prior to this. Resale value on these cars is lousy, but if you're planning on getting a car that you will run into the ground this is a good pick.

Yep, it's still a good investment if you keep your cars more than a couple years. My 2004 Vibe has nearly 70000 miles on it and I'd buy it again. If you have a choice in what year Vibe to purchase avoid 2006 Vibes as True Delta shows that although good they have more repairs than other years.

But essentailly that was it...

wait a minute....my '06 base 5-speed has had zeroissues in about 68,000 miles. NONE.and i'm not the most gentle driver on it either. just to speak for the '06 model year
I would think 05 the more trouble some year with the weak paint... but other than that and its drive by wire, its the same drivetrain from 03-08. Then in 09/10 they got the new 1.8 and 2.4l
Pontiac being dropped probably didn't make very many people happy...Buying a car from a company that went bankrupt and is out of production is generally not a good investment.
1. A Rose by any other name smells as sweet - or something like that.2. At the prices a lot of us have paid for the 2009 and 2010 Vibes I believe we have enough advantage over Matrix buyers that our cost of ownership will be less. I think I could sell my '09 Vibe now for more than I paid last January.

I have no problems with 2006 at 40k or my 2005 at 70k. These things were built to last. As far as holding their value? The toy-like drive ability, makes a run to the corner store fun again.
