I'm looking for a word of advice from people who have used Pontiac Vibe for at least a few years. I'm planning on buying a used one, 2006 model, with 100K miles. Does this sound like a not such a great idea and 100K is too much? I know whose cars are pretty durable, so for those of you who have been using Vibe for a while, does it still drive well or are there any issues i should be concerned about? Thanks in advance.
it depends on how well it was maintained. 100k isn't really a lot for these cars as long as all the maintance was kept up to date.edit:see your in my old stomping grounds. Was born in montclair, lived in bloomfield and belleville.Auto?Manual?base?gt?AWD?If you can provide a bit more info we can give you an idea on what you should have closely looked at before it's bought

I'm a good bit closer to you! Out at the other end of route 10. Just purchased a used car in Montclair about two months ago.I've got an 07 I purchased new and now has 40,000 + on it. I've nothing but praise for the car. I've maintained it so it still runs and looks good.I'd be worried about previous serious accidents. Take a good look at it, does it sit proud and even, not sagging anywhere? Are the panels straight and fit together well? Is the color even on each panel? When it is driven by someone else and you stand behind it as it goes away are the wheels in alignment following each other or does it Crab down the road sideways? If you aren't mechanical have someone who is take a look at it and make sure there aren't any knocks or ticks in the engine or the tranny acts "funny". Brakes, tires, etc, no big deal, an engine or tranny overhaul is.Good luck, don't want the car too badly or you can make a mistake and purchase a lemon for too many $$'sDave
100k in only 3 years? that's some serious highway miles: very easy on a car's engine. I'd be looking at the tires. they should have been replaced at least once on a car with that many miles. If it has not been in any accidents and your mechanic says its OK, 100k is merely a drop in the bucket for that engine. Again, highway miles are easiest on an engine, so if all the above checks out OK, I'd grab yourself a bargain after you "whine and complain" about how that's just too many miles on the car..........................I'll give you $4000! Kelly Blue Book appears to be in the $7,500 range. Again, lots of tears and tell them lots of reasons why 100k miles just is way too much compared to what else is available on cars.com and other sites. Best of luck.
